Gov't accepts International Economic Ratings as affirmation of prudent economic policies

Government has welcomed the sovereign ratings of Ghana from B minus to B by International Rating Agency, standards and Poor’s Global.

Speaking at the launch of the 4th National Policy Summit in Accra, the Minister Designate for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah said the rating is accurate and an affirmation of interventions being under taken by government to transform the economy.

He reiterated the Akufo-Addo’s administration’s resolve to work hard to improve the financial sector, as this is the first time in a decade for the country to be upgraded to B.

The fourth National Policy Summit will focus on assessing government’s flagship Programs, the journey so far.

Mr. Oppong Nkrumah stated that Ministers responsible for the flagship programmes such as- the One-District-One-Factory, Free SHS, National Health Insurance, One-Village-One-Dam, livelihood and Empowerment Programme, will be present to explain to Ghanaians, how the initiatives have fared since their introduction.
