Gov't reaches agreement with IPPs to pay for power delivered

A Deputy Minister of Finance, Mrs. Abena Osei Asare says government has reached an agreement with Independent Power Producers, IPP to pay for power delivered to reduce arrears build up.

She said the move forms part of reforms in the energy sector. Hitherto government pays for the excess capacity but has resulted to pay for only power delivered.

Mrs. Osei Asare said the government is working and by the end of 2023 “conclude its external debt restructuring”.

She said government will soon introduce some reforms in the cocoa sector.
