Investors have been encouraged to list on the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) as government intends to boost the Exchange as announced in the 2021 budget statement.

GSE is bouncing back with a year to date return at almost 14 percent.

Despite the ravaging effect of COVID-19, Ghana’s equities market has been phenomenal, becoming Africa’s best performing stock market to date.

The last time the market attained such feat was in 2017 when the GSE emerged the best performing market with a year to date return of 52.73 percent.

Speaking at a Post Budget forum, a Partner at KPMG, Michael Boateng explained that the exemption of taxes on shares listed on the GSE means more profits for investors hence the need for people to invest heavily in stocks now.
