The Minister for Trade and Industry, Alan Kyeremanten says government has given out more than ¢190 million for the implementation of One District One Factory Initiative.

According to the Minister, the money was given to 13 Private Financial Institutions, PFIs as interest subsidies for lending to businesses and individuals.

The Minister was responding to a question which stood in the name of the MP for Kumbungu, Ras Mubarak who wanted to find out if any monies have been disbursed to individuals or companies who have expressed interest in the 1D1F Program.

The ‘One district, one factory’ is a Government of Ghana policy. It is aimed at creating jobs for Ghanaians through the setting up of factories and industries which will in turn move the country towards greater industrialisation.
