President’s Business Support Programme launched, targeting 26,000 beneficiaries

The President’s Business Support Programme, Window -3, has been launched in Accra with a target of 26,000 beneficiaries.

The Minister for Business Development, Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Awal who launched the initiative said five thousand of the beneficiaries, mostly startups will be supported with funding totaling 40 million Ghana Cedis.

The aim is to build their capacities and create employment for the youth.

The President, Nana Akufo- Addo, launched the Programme in 2017 in line with his commitment to encourage the youth to set up their own businesses to enhance National Development.

So far 19 thousand young people have been trained and supported to be self-employed.

The Chief Executive of the National Entrepreneurship Initiative Plan, John Kuma, said the programme since its establishment has been very successful with four thousand, three hundred and fifty businesses experiencing tremendous growth.
