Second Lady presents ¢5.3m to young women entrepreneurs

The Wife of the Vice President, Mrs. Samira Bawumia has reiterated government’s commitment to invest and support small scale Businesses to enable them to provide employment to more people.

She was speaking at a ceremony in Accra to present cheques to young women entrepreneurs to enable them to grow their businesses.

Six women groups, including women in Information, Communication Technology Women in Fashion and Beauty, Women in Agribusiness and those in Trade and Commerce received cheques totaling ¢5.3 million to enable them to expand their business.

The project is an initiative of the Ministry of Business Development in Collaboration with the Samira Empowerment and Humanitarian Project and the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Plan.

Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Mrs. Cynthia Morrison commended the beneficiaries on their chosen fields but urged them to be faithful and truthful in their dealings with their customers.

Wife of Vice President, Mrs. Samira Bawumia urged the women Entrepreneurs to use the money for the intended purpose.

The Minister for Business Development Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Awal, announced that the Ministry together with the National Entrepreneurship Innovation Plan will over the next four years spend 50 million cedis each year to support women entrepreneurs.
