Entrepreneur Prince Tagoe highlights benefits of social media for Business

Entrepreneur and Communication Consultant and CEO of Africon International, currently based in Morocco, Prince Tagoe, has emphasised the necessity for business owners to establish a social media presence, asserting that ”it would be irrational for a business to operate without leveraging the potential of social media as an ideal marketing platform”.

During an interview on GBC’s Market Avenue, Mr. Tagoe highlighted the advantages of utilising social media for marketing while addressing the challenges faced by small-scale businesses in this endeavour.

Mr. Tagoe explained, “Social media is a primary channel for information sharing and business promotion. In the current era, where information is disseminated through various channels, neglecting social media presence for a business would be irrational.”

He advised small-scale businesses to strategically use social media platforms to advertise their products, emphasising the importance of understanding their target audience. For those targeting a younger demographic, he recommended platforms like Facebook, which is popular among youth.

Additionally, Mr. Tagoe encouraged aspiring business owners to seek guidance from experienced individuals and allocate resources wisely. Touching on graphic design, he stressed the importance of collaborating with a designer who understands the business vision and target audience.

Addressing the challenges small-scale businesses encounter on social media, Tagoe highlighted the importance of consistency in posting content. Drawing a parallel to friendships, he likened the need for regular interaction on social media to maintaining a connection with friends.

The Morrocco-based Ghanaian entrepreneur underscored the significance of understanding social media algorithms and the need for continuous engagement to establish a recognisable and familiar presence in the competitive digital landscape.
