With its distinctive and unique designs, the fabrics were highly patronised country-wide and on the international market. However, they have lost their presence on the textiles stands following the introduction of African prints a decade ago.
Producers of the fabrics say the taste for foreign goods and the influx of foreign textiles on the local market, account largely for this.
