A second Town Hall meeting on the controversial E-Levy is ongoing at the Sekondi Youth Center in the Western Region.

The event comes off a week after the maiden public engagement on the policy in the Eastern Regional capital, Koforidua.

The Sekondi event is featuring Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta; Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah; Western Regional Minister, Kwabena Otchere Darko-Mensah; Justina Marigold Assan, the Central Regional Minister, and MP for Sekondi, Andrew Egyapa Mercer.

The government has said that the Town Hall Meetings are aimed at explaining the importance of the E-levy to Ghanaians as well as taking feedback and input from relevant stakeholders.

This feedback, according to the government, will inform it on the implementation of the levy.

The E-levy is a new tax measure introduced by the government in the 2022 Budget on basic transactions related to digital payments and electronic platform transactions.
