The Upper West Region is predicting a bumper harvest of maize, soybean and sorghum this year.
The anticipated increase in production is attributed to the government’s Planting for Food and Jobs programme.
When the Regional Minister Dr Hafiz Bin Salih visited some districts and municipalities in the region, he was told that the youth and farmer based organizations have increased their farms by three folds this farming season due to the programme.
