Government says, it has invested two million U.S dollars in renovating tourism facilities in the Central region and also promote other new ones to create employment and generate revenue.
The Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and creative Art, Mark Okraku Mantey who represented the President, explained that, the total development and growth of the nation largely depends on the regions, hence the need to support the promotion of Investment opportunities.
This was during the official opening of the week-long Central Region Trade, Tourism and Investment Fair open in Cape Coast.
The region is not only noted for its tourism attractions and citadel of Education but also abounds in many other potentials including agriculture, mining, fishing, Culture and traditions with many beautiful festivals and other businesses. The fair is seeking to project them and maximise the already known potentials.
All the 22 Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies are showcasing investment opportunities abound in their areas.
At the official opening of the fair, the Oguaa Manhen, Osabarima Kwesi Atta who chaired the programme and the President of the Central Regional House of Chiefs, Odeefour Amoakwah Buadu, highlighted the importance of the fair to the regions development and employment creation.
The Deputy Minister For Tourism, Culture and Creative Art, Mark Okraku Mantey, represented the President. He congratulated the region for the initiative which he believes would change the narrative of the region.
He mentioned beaches along the Coast of the region as one major investment potential which need to be critically looked at and the need to keep them clean. He again noted that, government has invested two million U.S dollars in renovating and improving tourism facilities in the Central Region.
