Executive Director of Ark Foundation Ghana, Dr Angela Dwamena Aboagye has urged government to adopt a bipartisan approach towards tackling problems in the country’s education sector.
While commending government for efforts to promote gender equality in the educational curricula, Dr Aboagye called for broader consultation with people with diverse backgrounds in future discussions to better develop the sector.
Speaking on GBC’s current affairs program, ‘ Talking Point’, Dr. Dwamena Aboagye applauded government for the consideration of a bill that will define education from basic to SHS level.
The Acting Vice Dean, Centre for International Education and Collaboration, UPSA, Dr Anim- Wright called for stakeholder involvement in formulating policies to better the country’s education.
The Board Chair of the National Film and Television Institute, NAFTI, Juliet Asante, said the country’s education system should be tailored towards the current trend in computer technology and involve the younger generation.
She said the current system makes it difficult for people to think independently and utilise what is learnt in school.
