Cameroon’s first Women’s Africa Cup of Nations title comes with a $2 million prize, double the $1 million paid to the 2024 champions.
The Indomitable Lionesses clinched the money and the trophy with a 3-0 final win over Malawi in Rabat.
Marie Ngah Manga scored twice and Naomi Ndjoah Eto once, all in the first half, to give Cameroon an unassailable 3-0 lead by the break.
The victory ended Cameroon’s 22-year wait for the title after losing finals to Nigeria in 2004, 2014 and 2016.
Cameroon join Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea and South Africa as the only nations to have won WAFCON. As champions, they also secure direct qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil, alongside runners-up Malawi and semi-finalists Algeria and Morocco.
