The Students Representatives Council, (SRC), President of the Accra Technical University,  Kwesi Sarfo Kantanka has confirmed reported cases of sex for grades in the University.

This follows an under cover report released by the BBC  which portrayed alleged incidents of sexual harassment by lecturers from the University of Ghana and the University of Legos in Nigeria on female students.

Mr. Sarfo Katanka told GBC’s Nathaniel Nartey in an interview that the SRC has recorded three cases of lecturers sexually harassing students for academic progression this year.

“Sex for grades goes on here on this campus…..there has been 3 cases reported this year….my administration together with management of the university will collaborate to bring on board initiatives that will ensure students have voice when it comes to sexual harassment.”

He added that the Women’s Commission of the University will collaborate with management of the University to resolve the issue.
