President Akufo-Addo has joined other global leaders to ease restrictions on movement of their citizens amidst scourge of the Coronavirus pandemic.

This move has received some feedback from Ghanaians here and overseas, especially with the country’s COVID-19 positive cases numbering more than one thousand currently.

But, Security and International Relations Analyst, Alhaji Irbad Ibrahim has commended President Akufo Addo for his handling of issues so far as the battle against COVID-19 is concerned in Ghana.

In reference to the lockdown, Alhaji Ibrahim said he supports the idea of opening up the economy because a large proportion of the people and businesses in Kumasi and Accra belong to the informal sector and many survive on daily earnings.

On security, Alhaji Ibrahim lauded the efforts of the security personnel for their conduct during the lockdown.

He ties security to the economy and says security should, however, reflect the total well-being of a people.

Alhaji Ibrahim was of the view that President Akufo-Addo, his government and the Minority as well ought to be congratulated for putting aside all parochial interests and making national interest the paramount matter in Ghana’s battle against the Coronavirus.
