The current case fatality rate of COVID-19 stands at 0.43 percent in the country which includes persons aged between 9 and 82 years.
Briefing the media, the Director General of Public Health at the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Badu Sarkordie said 22 people have died so far and the factors that caused their death can be attributed to the quality of care and how early the cases were reported to medical facility.
Dr. Sarkordie also said the number of male deaths are higher than females.
Meanwhile, an eighty-year old woman has died of covid-19 at the Tamale Central Hospital.
The Northern Regional Director of Health, Dr. John Eleeza who disclosed this in an interview with GBC’s Radio Ghana in Tamale, said the deceased was among three new cases of covid-19 recorded in the region over the weekend.
