Coronavirus: World Vision Ghana-Krachi Cluster Donates Covid-19 PPE to Krachi West District Assembly

Krachi West Area Programme for World Vision Ghana has donated various quantities of Personal Preventive Equipment (PPE) and Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials estimated at GHS15,000 to the Krachi West District Directorate of Health Service for COVID-19 prevention.

The items included face masks, spectacles, PPE clothes, examination gloves, utility gloves, bleach, hand sanitizers, toilet soup (lifebuoy) and soap solution.

Presenting the items on behalf of the Krachi Cluster Manager, Augustine Nyaaba, WASH Project Officer who is also Coordinator for COVID-19 Activities for the Krachi cluster said the donation is to complement government’s efforts at preventing community infection of the COVID-19 virus. He assured of World Vision’s continuous collaboration with the District Assembly and other stakeholders in the fight against the COVID-19 infections.

Receiving the items, Hon Douglas Osei-Nti, Krachi West District Chief Executive (DCE) thanked World Vision Ghana for the timely donation and promised the Assembly’s continuous collaboration with World Vision Ghana.

The Acting District Director of Ghana Health Service, Victor Ahiaba, receiving the items from the DCE was full of gratitude to World Vision Ghana for the donation. According to him, “the donation could not have been done at a better time than this when health frontline staff lack basic PPEs to work with. He assured that the items would be distributed fairly among all facilities in the district to help prevent community COVID-19 infection.

Fifteen-year-old Lucy, a registered child of World Vision programme who participated in the donation expressed her gratitude on behalf of all children in the district to World Vision for the donation. “This donation would go a long way to help prevent COVID-19 infection among children within families in our communities,” she added.
