Council of State Member, Alhaji Sahanun Mogtari laid to rest in Wa

Former Member of the Council of State, Alhaji Shahnun Mogtari, who passed on last night has been buried at the Royal cemetery in Wa in the Upper West Region in accordance with Islamic practices.

Alhaji Mogtari died on Monday at the Upper West Regional Hospital.

He was 74.

He was a former Upper West Regional Minister and a Former Ghana’s Ambassador to Burkina Faso.

His last public appearance according to reports was at the commissioning of commercial flights to the Upper West Region in recent times.

From 1992 till 2002 Sahanun served as the Upper West regional secretary.

Then became the regional minister in 2001 to 2005.

From 2006 to 2009 Sahanun was the Ambassador to Burkina Faso.

Alhaji Mogtari Sahanun was among Council of State members sworn into office by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Monday 27 February, 2017 at the Banquet Hall, State House.
