An Accra High Court has ordered the Executive Director of EOCO to release the passport of Caleb Afaglo, one of the accused persons in the $72 million  SSNIT  Operating Business Suite (OBS) contract which is said to have been fraudulent.
This was after Counsel for the fourth accused person, Philip Abaidoo filed and moved for an application of notice for an order directed at the Executive Director of EOCO, for the release of his client’s passport. He argued that since his client was arrested in April and his passport seized, the passport has been with EOCO since then.  Lawyer Abaidoo therefore prayed the Court to order the release of his client’s passport which the Court granted.
Former Director-General of SSNIT, Ernest Thompson, and four others, have been charged with 29 criminal counts of causing financial loss to the state and defrauding by false pretense.
