A former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Health and allied Sciences Prof. Fred Binka has called for the testing of all frontline health workers for the COVID-19 virus. This will ensure that they don’t endanger the lives of their patients and to themselves.

Speaking on GBC’s Current Affairs Programme Focus Prof. Binka said after the testing, those who are positive should be quarantined.

He noted that the government has managed the COVID 19 issues very well and called for two weeks more extension of the lockdown.

Prof. Binka, who is also a Clinical Epidemiologist said gov’t must add the Tamale metropolis to the lockdown areas so as to stop the spread in the Northern parts of the country.

The Chairman of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Defence and Interior, Seth Kwame Acheampong, called on Ghanaians to respect the lockdown for their own good.

He said any civilian who touches any security officer in uniform enforcing the directive of the President has touched the very constitution of the land and must be dealt with.
