Armed Robbers on Sunday afternoon shot and killed a Driver at Labun quarters just about 20 miles from Yeji the district capital of Pru East in the Bono East region. A GBCN crew arrived at the scene shortly after the incident occurred.
According to reports, the driver of the Sprinter bus with registration number AW 40 99 _12 was travelling from Effiduase in Ashanti to Yeji with market women when the armed Robbers struck, killing the driver and robbing the women of their monies.
The police responded to the distress call, but arrived rather too late when the Robbers had done their deed.
They picked the lifeless body into their patrol vehicle.
Some drivers and community members say they are now living in fear on the Kumasi Yeji stretch.
The robbery occurred in broad day light, a few minutes past 4pm on Sunday.
