To mark World Toilet Day, which hits our calendar today, Tuesday, November 19, 2019, the Atta-Mills Institute (AMI), is advocating for Human Rights to include, “Defecating In Dignity”.

Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Atta-Mills Institute, Koku Anyidoho, has stated that AMI will advocate, as a matter of urgency, for Public Policy to include Defecating In Dignity.

Mr Koku Anyidoho

“In this day and age where people are advocating for all kinds of Rights; the AMI will champion the cause of Defecating In Dignity to be added to Ghana’s Human Rights agenda” A statement signed by the Founder and CEO, contained.

According to the AMI, it is totally unacceptable for Ghana to be ranked second when it comes to open defecation on the African Continent per an existing World Health Organisation (WHO) Report.

As such, as a Civic Education and Public Policy Think-Tank, the AMI remains resolute and unshakeable in its resolve to fight to conquer the ugly menace of open defecation and its related dire consequences for the nation.

The AMI is in the process of partnering concerned Government Agencies to work towards the attainment of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6 – which is targeted at improving the Water and Sanitation issues worldwide.
