Demonstrate brotherliness for Ghana's good, Muslims urged

The Ghana Armed Forces have held congregational prayers of thanksgiving during the Eid- ul -Adha for troops and families this morning at the Al Aziz Mosque in Burma Camp.

 

Speaking at the thanksgiving service, Acting Chief Imam of the Ghana Armed Forces, Major Sheikh NA Mohammed described this year’s Eid celebration as successful.

 

He encouraged Muslims to demonstrate brotherliness among each other for the good of the nation.

 

Eid-ul Adha also known as the festival of sacrifice is the second of two Islamic holidays celebrated worldwide.

 

The festival is to commemorate the willingness of Ibrahim to follow Allah’s command and sacrifice his son. Scores of Muslims gather in mosques throughout the country to observe their thanksgiving prayers and also slaughter a cow as a sacrifice.

 

Speaking at a thanksgiving service at the Burma Camp in Accra, the Acting Chief Imam of the Ghana Armed Forces, Major Sheikh Mohammed described this year’s Eid as successful. He also encouraged muslim youth to show brotherliness to all, for the good of the nation.

 

Major Mohammed advised the youth to desist from wild celebrations because Islam is a peaceful religion.

 

He wished all Muslims a blissful Eid-ul Adha.
