Diasporas to discuss ROPAL at Homecoming Summit

Accra will play host to this year’s Ghana Diaspora Celebration and Homecoming summit slated for July 3 to 6.

Delegates from more than fifty countries are expected to participate in the three-day event where a draft diaspora engagement policy will be made available for participants to make inputs.

Speaking at a news briefing in Accra, Director of the Diasporan Affairs Office, at the Office of the President, Akwasi Awuah Ababio announced that the draft Policy is ready.

He said the document is aimed at targeting and encouraging more Ghanaians in the Diaspora to bring their technical skills, and investment opportunities back home to complement growth and development of the country.

One key agenda which will be in focus will be the Representation of the Peoples Amendment Law, (ROPAL).
