DUNK, a Ghana based NGO is set to bring youth together through sports. Over the years, DUNK has been working with the youth around Jamestown and Nima giving them life lessons and practical life skills. With over 400 youth under their tutelage, DUNK hopes to give hope to the youth in these parts of the country.
The maiden edition of the DUNK – GAME will be celebrating youth-led street sports in Jamestown.
Speaking ahead of the 3 day event which starts from Friday, August 23rd to Sunday, August 25, founding member of DUNK, Mohammed Tahir, reiterates the purpose for this year’s event.
According to him, “the main goal is to use sports as a bait to encourage youth and children make positive choices in building their own community and to reach a lot of children nationwide. With that we could have a cross-country tournament and will also be able to help get children off the streets.”
As a result of the good works DUNK has embarked on so far, the fastest growing NGO in Denmark has established the Ghana Goals Project with aim of creating lasting social change through youth-led street sports and culture.
