The rippling effects of COVID-19 seem to be having a toll on the various countries affected.

With Ghana recording five new cases, bringing its confirmed cases to sixteen, there are various institutions that are ensuring that there is no further spread of the virus or fear and panic in the public. One of such institutions is the Mental Health Authority.

The C.E.O of the Mental Health Authority, Dr. Akwasi Osei, says the Authority is guided by the directive given by the President to ensure that there is no further spread.

He added that intensive education is ongoing with the nurses, patients and volunteers at the various facilities.

In an interview with GBC’s Radio Ghana, Dr. Osei mentioned that equipment and preventive measures have been placed at vantage points to disinfect patients and visitors.

Dr. Akwasi Osei advised the public to desist from creating panic and resort to the advise and education on prevention.
