10 Senior High School students from four institutions in the Ahafo Region have tested positive for the novel COVID-19. But one of them has recovered with others showing mild symptoms and receiving treatment at the Bechem Government Hospital.
The remaining eight students are also in self-isolation and are responding to treatment. The Ahafo Regional Director of Health Services, Dr. Boakye Boateng who revealed this in an interview with Radio Ghana expressed worry over the continued spread of the virus in the region and called on the public to adhere to the safety protocols to stop the spread.
The Ahafo Region has so far recorded 103 cases of COVID-19 with 23 recoveries and 4 deaths. 10 Senior High School students from 4 SHS in 3 districts namely, Tano South, Tano North, Asutifi North have also tested positive with one now recovered and another receiving treatment at the Bechem government hospital.
The remaining 8 are in self-isolation under the care of the GHS. The Ahafo Regional Director of Health Services, Dr. Boakye Boateng who revealed this also said, 24 health officials have tested positive with one recovered and the remaining 23 under self-isolation.
Dr. Boakye Boateng said, all the districts in region have cases with the exception of Asunafo North. He mentioned Asutifi South and Asutifi North as the districts with the highest cases with males being the most infected.
On the precautionary measures for Covid19, Dr. Boakye Boateng bemoaned the situation as Ghanaians are not adequately adhering to the safety protocols.
