Adaklu MP commissions newly built teachers’ bungalow ahead of primaries

By Edzorna Francis Mensah

Kwame Governs Agbodza, the member of Parliament for the Adaklu Constituency who doubles as the Minority Chief Whip in parliament, has commissioned a newly built teachers’ bungalow at Adaklu Dorkpo ahead of the primaries slated for Saturday, May 13.

Mr. Agbodza, at the handover ceremony held on May 11, 2023, could not hide his joy at seeing the finished product as he recalled the scenes he met in 2012 when he visited Adaklu Dorkpo, Avelebe, and Seva during his visits to these communities.

The lawmaker appreciated the teachers who have accepted postings and are sacrificing to be working in this community and other similar places in Adaklu.

The lawmaker, who was wrapping up his campaign tour, expressed his gratitude to the delegates and thanked the DCE, Juliana Kpedekpo, for her quick response and support to ensure this project became a reality.

Kwame Governs Agbodza pledged to liaise with the DCE to make sure the abandoned 6-unit classroom block at Adaklu Dorkpo will come to fruition.

As a way of showing gratitude, the member of Parliament presented an undisclosed amount of money to a lady teacher who has worked there for some number of years now and another amount of cash to the staff of Adaklu Dorkpo Primary School.

The acting District Director of Education, Samuel Bruku, thanked the lawmaker for his unflinching support for education in the district. Mr. Bruku outlined some of the developmental projects initiated by the lawmaker. Again, he made mention of the construction of 8-unit classroom blocks at Adaklu SHS and a kitchen facility under construction at Gbekor SHS.

Mr. Samuel Bruku urged other stakeholders to invest in educational infrastructure such as teachers’ bungalows and classroom blocks since this will motivate teachers to remain at their stations and deliver the very best endowed in them.

These were contained in a statement jointly signed by the communication officer and his deputy, Christopher Galenkui and Emil Akpator.
