The Greater Accra Regional A.M.E Zion Educational Unit has honoured the best JHS Student of its schools, as part of efforts to motivate the children to study hard towards their BECE.

For the past eleven years, the unit has been organising Mock Examinations for the final year JHS Students where students who excel receive books, certificates and cash prizes.

This year’s event took place at the Aggrey Memorial AME Zion Church at Mamprobi.

The Management of the Unit at the Excellence Awards also made a special presentation to a JHS -2 student from Ebenezer A.M.E Zion Basic School at Dansoman who emerged second at a National French Quiz.

The Regional Manager Rev. David Mensah talked about the choice of subjects for the Mock Examination and performance of the students. Some of the award winners said they have been challenged to study hard to climb the education ladder.

The Presiding Elder of the Accra North District of the A.M.E Zion Church, Rev. Gabriel Senanu challenged teachers to be role models for their pupils in the national campaign towards corruption free-society.

He noted that the danger of corruption is that it tends to create room for injustice, destroying society’s moral fibre and people become spiritually bankrupt.
