Clever word spell grand finale held in Tamale

Pupils from selected Primary and Junior High Schools (JHSs) within the Tamale Metropolis, have competed in a clever word spell grand finale, organised by Clever Competitions.com, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) promoting child education in the Northern Region.

The competition is an annual event organized by the NGO to help children improve on their spelling abilities and also aid them in learning concepts, improving on their comprehension and developing study skills.

With funding support from Miksi Choco, this year’s preliminary rounds begun in May and winners from various stages in the schools competed in the final.

For the Primary School level, Ms Sulemana Faith, a pupil from Fachi Little Flower placed first, Ms Naa Dei Neequaye from SOS Hermman Gmeiner School came second, while Master Herbet Nartey from St Adelaide’s School was awarded the third position.

In the JHS category, Master Sulemana Deishini, a pupil from Dahin Sheli JHS placed first, Ms Hamdu Labib Ulfah, a Tamale Presby JHS pupil came second, while Master Tamimu Mohammed, a pupil from Grace Holy Child Academy placed third.

First placed pupils for both levels received an amount of GHC3000, trophy, medal, 20 branded exercise books, one month free lunch coupon from Mama Raf Restaurant, two boxes of Miksi products and Miksi head phone.

Second placed for each levels also took home brand new HP Laptop, trophy medal, 20 branded exercise books, two boxes of Miksi products and Miksi head phone.

The third positions were awarded brand new double door fridge, trophy, Medal, 20 branded exercise books, two boxes of Miksi products and Miksi head phone.

Mr Issahaku Abdul Kadiri, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Clever Competitions.com, said his outfit had observed that most children in the Northern Region faced some difficulties with regards to word spell, hence, the idea behind the competition to help shape their cognitive psychology.

Mr Emmanuel Osafo, Northern Sector Head of Marketing at Miksi Choco, commended the winners for their hard work and encouraged others to put in much effort in their studies, so they could also excel in the next phase of the competition.
