The Accra Girls Senior High School has cut the sod to construct a wall around the school. This is to help prevent intruders and cattle from gaining access to the school compound.
Speaking at the ceremony, the PTA Chairman, Emmanuel Thompson said it’s been quite a long journey and the decision to construct the wall has not been easy. He however, expressed optimism that once the project  is completed, it will solve security issues in the school.
Members of the school’s PTA have been making monetary contributions in the last two years for the construction of the fence wall. The school has been facing security challenges; the reason for the urgent need to fence it to ward off intruders. The PTA Chairman, Emmanuel Thompson said the timing for the construction of the wall couldn’t have been better because of recent  security breaches by outsiders.
The headmistress of the school Mrs. Joyce S. Acolatse said the construction has been on the drawing board for some time because help from the GES kept delaying. Hence the PTA’s decision to step in to help.
A representative of the PTA, Mrs. Lawrenda Osei-Anim lauded the initiative, saying it will curb the problems of the teaching staff against intruders.
A representative of the MCE for Ayawaso East pledged support to evacuate encroachers to help expand the school.
