The Chairman of Wa Polytechnic Governing Council, Professor Daniel Debaagah, says the Wa High court’s decision to quash the dismissal of the Rector of the Polytechnic Professor Emmanuel Marfo-Owusu is unfortunate and a denial of fair judgement.
In April this year, Prof. Marfo-Owusu was suspended by a Special Committee comprising members of the Polytechnic Governing Council, who were tasked to investigate allegations of financial mismanagement leveled against him.
He however filed a suit seeking to quash his suspension. Prior to the ruling on his suit, there was chaos at the Polytechnic after some staff locked out Professor Marfo-Owusu, and chased him out of the campus, accusing him of intimidating workers among other things.
Speaking on Behind the News, Professor Daniel Debaagah said, they did everything possible, but the judgement concentrated on the fact that they had no evidence.
