Covid-19: GES rolls out guidelines to ensure safety in schools

The Ghana Education Service (GES), says it has rolled out Comprehensive Reopening Guidelines to ensure schools are safe for pupils, students and teachers.

These include recovery learning programmes, back to school campaigns and the mapping of all schools to health facilities in case of any reported COVID-19 case.

The Director-General of the Ghana Education Service, Professor Kwasi Opoku Amankwah, at a media briefing in Accra stated that adequate PPE including facemasks, sanitizers and tissue paper have been distributed to all schools including those for children with special needs.

Professor Opoku Amankwah announced that from next week the GES will start effective monitoring of all schools to ensure their adherence to the COVID-19 protocols. This will be done in collaboration with the Ghana Health Service and other stakeholders.
