The much awaited double track system introduced by the government of Ghana kick-starts today (September 11).
The aim among other things is to address the growing number of students benefiting from the Free Senior High School (SHS) Policy. Grouped into two batches, the first batch – tagged the ‘green track’ starts today and the second batch which is the ‘yellow track’ is expected to resume in November.
The Deputy Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Anthony Kwaku Amoah in a phone interview on Uniiq FM breakfast show hinted that, registration is moving smoothly.
He further explained that, though students who belong to the green track will be resuming today, academic work will not start right away.
“Those who will be visiting their schools will be going through the admission processes trying to get their allocation which has to do with accommodation”, he said
He added that the GES has not received complaints regarding accommodation as the double track system being rolled out is to address this.
