Admissions at Saint Charles Minor Seminary is said to have dropped by nearly fifty per cent within the last two years due to inadequate infrastructure.

Despite promises from government over the period, nothing has been done to address the challenges facing the school.

The School suffered series of fire disasters between March 2017 and April this year, leading to the displacement of about seven hundred students.

According to the management of the school, the situation is greatly affecting teaching and learning.

The Headmaster, Polycap Kusorku, in an interview with GBC’s Radio Ghana in Tamale, appealed to government, benevolent individuals and organizations to come to the aid of the school.

The Tamale Metropolitan Catholic Archbishop, Most Rev. Philip Naameh added his voice to the call saying the diocese is unable to raise funds to embark on development projects.

He expressed concern about the growing indiscipline in the school and consequently, poor performance.

Most Rev. Philip Naameh emphasized the need to return the administration of Catholic schools to the church to enable them to exercise direct control on the schools.
