Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Carlos Ahenkorah, believes governments flagship programme, the Free Senior High School (SHS) could be a solution to the menace of political vigilantism that has caused loss of life and property in recent times.

This is because the policy creates a level playing field for students who would have otherwise dropped out of school and end up as vigilantes to political parties.

Mr. Ahenkorah is of the view that most political vigilantes today are people who were unable to continue their education because of financial difficulties.

He was speaking at the ‘2018 Heroes of Distinction Awards’ in Accra which looked at the “Two years of President Akufo-Addo’s Government.”

Meanwhile, the Chief Executive Officer of West Africa International Press Limited, Dr. Otibu Asare, has called for more support for Ghanaian entrepreneurs and investors.

Dr. Asare says the recent kidnapping, contract killing and vigilante related violence has created an unfavourable environment for foreign investment and called on government to remedy the matter.
