The Ghana Education Service (GES) has terminated the appointment of Mr. Charles Akwasi Aidoo, Assistant Headmaster in charge of Academics at KNUST Senior High School, following a viral video allegedly showing him in an inappropriate situation with a female student.

In a statement issued on Monday, September 29, the GES said it had taken note of the incident, which has been widely shared on social media, and described the matter as a serious breach of professional conduct.

According to the statement signed by the Head of Public Relations, Daniel Fenyi, Mr. Aidoo has been relieved of his duties and barred from entering the school premises while investigations are ongoing.

The GES assured parents, guardians, and the public that a full inquiry would be conducted and that any further disciplinary actions would be carried out in accordance with its code of conduct.

“The GES remains committed to ensuring the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and child protection in all schools. We strongly condemn any behaviour that endangers the safety, dignity, or welfare of students,” the statement added.

The service reiterated its commitment to safeguarding students’ well-being and maintaining a safe learning environment across the country.
