The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) has listed 110 tertiary institutions it says are currently not recognised by the Commission.

The list was contained in a public notice issued by GTEC’s Corporate Affairs Directorate on Wednesday, 30 September 2026.

According to GTEC, the institutions are not currently recognised due to various quality assurance concerns.

The Commission has advised the public to exercise due diligence when dealing with the institutions, particularly in relation to certificates they issue.

GTEC said prospective students and the general public should verify the recognition status of any tertiary institution before enrolling or accepting certificates issued by it.
