President Akufo-Addo at the graduation of Trinity College in Accra in 2017, promised a historic handing over of mission schools across the country to its original administrators, the churches.

The Association said it was, therefore, time for the President to start the process by speeding up the signing of the MOU between government and the Missions to gain their confidence.

The demand was contained in a statement issued at the end of the national delegates’ conference of the Association held at Torve in the Volta Region.

According to the statement, the Association believed that if the management of mission and unit schools were given back to the Missions, indiscipline among the youth, which is getting out of hand would be reduced.

The statement also called on government to ensure that the structures of management and control of Mission Schools are recognised at all levels in the new Basic Education Bill, before its passage by Parliament.
