Ho Technical University exhibits talents and creativity of students

The 3rd Art and Design Week Celebration by the Faculty of Art and Design of the Ho Technical University is underway at the University where contemporary wares and artifacts of students are on exhibition.

The event themed, ‘Eco-System-Art and Fashion Perspective’, provides the platform for students of the Faculty of Arts and Design of the University to exhibit their talents and creativity in the field of fashion, design and industrial arts.

On exhibition at the G.M Afeti Auditorium on the University’s campus is a plethora of clothes made with foreign and local fabrics, ceramics, paintings, batik tie and dye apparels, among other artifacts produced by students.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Ben Quashie Honyenuga charged students to focus on precision and quality when manufacturing products, since the University has offered them quality training to compete on the global market.

“As artists and designers, you have to focus on precision because that will open the doors,” he said.

“Don’t focus on challenges but the quality training and discipline the University has offered you as a springboard to progress,” he entreated the students.

Professor Honyenuga disclosed that the Faculty of Arts and Design is one of the faculties management intends to strategically use in leveraging the opportunities that the University has to offer, to achieve its vision of being among the top-notch technical universities on the African Continent.

He, therefore, encouraged the students to strive for excellence in their works as the University counts on them as its worthy ambassadors.

Professor Honyenuga lauded the Faculty and students for the quality of products and arts on exhibition.

The Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Design, Dr Richard Gbadegbe said the students used objects from natural and artificial environments to construct the contemporary wares and artifacts on exhibition.
