.Aburi Girls’ Senior High School celebrated its 79th Speech and Prize-Giving Day on Saturday, 22nd November 2025, under the theme “A Legacy of Light: Influencing Future Generations.” The event featured cultural displays, exhibitions, a naming ceremony for new houses, and prize presentations.
Delivering the keynote message on behalf of the First Lady, H.E. Mrs. Lordina Mahama, Hon. Nana Oye Bampoe Addo (Deputy Chief of Staff,Admin) centred her powerful speech on discipline, responsible digital conduct, and the role of education in shaping the next generation. She urged students to protect their dignity online, avoid harmful trends, and uphold the positive values Aburi Girls SHS is known for namely integrity, humility and upright leadership. She also encouraged teachers to guide students firmly, monitor digital influences, and incorporate AI, media literacy, and emerging digital skills into learning.

Hon. Nana Oye further highlighted significant government reforms under the Education Reset Agenda, including improvements to the Free SHS policy, support for school feeding, renewed investment in infrastructure, free tertiary education for first-year students, and enhanced teacher welfare. She commended Aburi Girls SHS for remaining a “Light on the Hill” and shaping morally grounded future leaders.

The event was chaired by Mrs. Marian Yeboah, with special addresses from Mrs. Wihelmina Obuobisa-Atakora (Headmistress), Mrs. Lydia Essuah (Special Remarks), and Prof. G. Koryoe Anim-Wright (AOGA Global President). Other interesting Highlights of the event included the anniversary cake cutting and the handing over of the torch to the 2001 Year Group.
Aburi Girls’ SHS once again affirmed its legacy of excellence, culture, and leadership for future generations.
