The NDC Parliamentary candidate for Lambussie, Dr Titus Beyuo, has called for the depoliticization of educational institutions to enable the heads to use their “technical acumen” to manage the schools under their care.

Dr Beyuo made the call when he donated food items to three senior high schools in the Lambussie District of the Upper West Region.

GBC’s Emmanuel Mensah-Abludo reports from Wa that the package was made up of 25 (50kg) bags of rice, four bags of maize, 75 litres of cooking oil, and three cartons of canned tomatoes.

The beneficiary institutions were Lambussie Day Community and Piina Senior High Schools, as well as Holy Family School in Hamile. Lambussie Senior High School had five (50kg) bags of rice, 25 litres of cooking oil, and one carton of tinned tomatoes, while Piina and Holy Family Senior High Schools each received 10 (50kg) bags of rice, two bags of maize, 25 litres of cooking oil, and one carton of tinned tomatoes.

Dr Beyuo said the donation is aimed at supplementing the efforts of schools to feed students. He encouraged students to up their game in their academic work in order to succeed in life. The PTA Chairmen of the various schools took delivery of the items.

The Chairman of the Lambussie Community Day Senior High, Emil Baloroo, was very grateful for the support, saying it demonstrates practical love. The PTA Chairman of Piina Senior High School, Christopher Angelle, praised Dr Beyuo for running outreach programs in schools in the Lambussie District over the years to motivate students to aspire higher. The Holy Family Senior High School PTA, through its chairman, Alhassan Zakaria, equally recognised the donor for his benevolence.
