Government is to take a decision on the way forward for KNUST after student protests on Monday led to the destruction of property worth thousands of cedis. The chaos also left a number of students and staff traumatized.
Series of meetings have been held between University officials, Ministers of Education, the Interior, National Security and Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council over the matter.
It is not clear what decisions were taken but the Minister of Information designate Kojo Oppong Nkrumah says all parties in the brouhaha have been cooperative. He said after meeting with all parties involved, a concrete decision will be made.
Meanwhile the University Relations Officer, Kwame Yeboah has denied reports that the Vice Chancellor of KNUST, Prof Kwasi Obiri-Danso has resigned.
