KNUST failed to manage students agitation well – Panelists

Security Analyst, Adib Saani says the authorities at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, (KNUST), failed to manage the student agitation very well.

He said the strategy used by the University Administration to deal with the students was not the best and he is not surprised there was that fierce resistance from the students.

Speaking on Uniiq FM’s Current Affairs Programme, “Focus,” Mr. Saani said he is not condoning the vandalism by the student. He asked the University authorities to see the students as matured adults and should not impose anything on them.

A lecturer at the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GJA), Zakaria Tanko Musah said authorities at the KNUST must re-evaluate the way they handle student issues. He however condemned the extent to which the students went.
