Fifty workers have been honoured in the maiden edition of the College of Humanities Awards in Accra.

The recognition is a critical ingredient of the College’s Performance Management System.

Provost, College of Humanities, Prof. Daniel Frimpong Ofori, who spoke in an interview with GBC NEWS, said the college intends to make the awards an annual event to illustrate the college’s belief in the importance of recognition in improving organisation values, enhancing team efforts, boosting productivity, and increasing Employee and Customer satisfaction.

“We at the University of Ghana and in the College have made this one of our key strategic plans that we want to ensure that when our people do well, we recognise what they have done and let everybody know,” Prof. Frimpong Ofori stressed.

“This is the maiden one, next year we will continue and bring in the larger pool, not only those here in the university,” he noted.

The awards range from people who worked inside the Colege. There were awards for Meritorious Service, Awards for dedication, and one for the most Responsive Units of the College of Humanities.

The College of Humanities of the University of Ghana, which was established in 2014, has a total of six schools, 11 centers, and four research institutes, whose faculty and staff have been working tirelessly since inception to achieve the vision of the University of Ghana.
