The National Council of the Parent Teacher Associations (PTAs) has asked parents to embrace the ‘Double Track’ system in good faith to enable more students to be admitted into Senior High Schools and also improve the quality of education in Ghana.

National President of PTAs, Alexander Yaw Danso, said this in Tamale during a two-day workshop of the Northern Regional Council of PTAs to deliberate on how to help the double track and the semester system to succeed.

Council Members of PTAs from the Upper East, Upper West and the Northern Regions are attending the workshop, which is also intended to throw more light on Insurance Policy instituted for Senior High School students.

He said the double track system is a stop-gap measure to ensure that no child is left out of the classroom so as to educate as many children as possible to eliminate illiteracy in the country.

Northern Regional Chairman of PTAs, Alhaji Salifu, commended government for its bold decision to implement the Free Senior High School system and appealed to all parents to support it to succeed.

Alhaji Salifu appealed to government to allow the payment of PTA dues to enable the Association to continue projects being undertaken in schools to benefit students.
