The National Coordinator of the Network on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), Rebecca Ampa- Korsah, has decried government’s inability to place JHS graduates into any of the 200 TVET institutions through the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS).

She said the same incident happened in 2017 leaving the institutions empty.

Madam Ampa- Korsah, said although they were assured that students would be placed this year, not a single student has been placed in a TVET institution.

Speaking on GBC’s Radio Ghana, Madam Ampa- Korsah said the trend is worrying and appealed to government to come to their aid before the institutions collapse.

Madam Ampa- Korsah said it is regrettable that government is only paying lip service to the fact that Technical and Vocational training is the engine of growth.

She is of the view that the “one district one factory” program could be affected if all the students are sent to grammar schools.
