Place premium on your children’s education to guarantee their future – Jachiehene, Baffour Kwaku Amoateng

Parents have been advised to put a premium on their children’s education to ensure a productive future for them.

Jachiehene, Baffour Kwaku Amoateng who gave the advice, announced that it is among his topmost agenda to increase pupils’ retention in schools and improve academic performance so that the pupils can better appreciate the significance of education to their growth and development.

He was speaking at the finals of this year’s Inter-schools Quiz at Jachie in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti Region.

The annual quiz which was under the auspices of the Jachie Traditional Council in the Ashanti Region, is aimed at mentoring and motivating pupils to better appreciate the role of education to their development.

The initiative is also to provide guidance to basic schools in the area regarding choice of programs at the Secondary level and careers. The final of this year’s Inter- Schools Quiz among four Junior High Schools within the traditional area held at Jachie coincided with the 54th birthday celebration of Jachiehene, Baffour Kwaku Amoateng.

 

Pupils of the competing schools answered questions under English Language, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Current Affairs and Twi. The quiz saw Adventist Junior High School placing first with 82 points, followed by Jachie D/A I JHS with 79 points. Prinyinasi JHS came third with 73 points, with Jachie D/A 2 JHS placing fourth with 72 points. Each school received a trophy, digital piano and some educational materials.

Highlight of the event was the cutting of a birthday cake in honour of Jachiehene, Baffour Kwaku Amoateng. Baffour Kwaku Amoateng underscored the importance of education to the development of the country.
