SOGASCO’s Infrastructural deficit affects enrollment

By Seraphine Nyuiemedi’s

Management of Sogakope Senior High School (SOGASCO) in the South Tongu District of the Volta Region, has appealed to the government and other stakeholders to come to their aid to deal with its infrastructure and facilities deficit.

The school is in dire need of infrastructure and facilities to cater to its growing population.

The Headmaster, Newman Henry Dziedzoave who made the appeal said though the school’s old student Association (SOSA) and the PTA are doing their best in terms of the development of the school, all hands must be on deck to propel the school to a higher height.

Mr Dziedzoave made the appeal at the inaugural ceremony of a 13- Member reconstituted Board of Directors of the school.

The Sogakope Senior High school after 60 years of existence, has inadequate classrooms, staff bungalows, student dormitories and washrooms for girls. Again the condition of the school’s only bus is nothing to write home about.

This is affecting the easy movement of students and staff. The Headmaster, Newman Henry Dziedzoave said there is an urgent need to address the infrastructural deficit to give the school a facelift.

The Volta Regional Director of Education, Enyonam Afi Amafuga charged the newly reconstituted Board of Directors to collectively and effectively guide management of the school to achieve its vision.
