Some government basic schools in the Suame Municipality in the Ashanti Region have received some educational materials to enhance academic work as schools reopen.
The items included, school uniforms, exercise books, mathematical sets, pencils, erasers, pens, biscuits and soft drinks. The beneficiary schools were, Suame M/A, Adadiem M/A as well as Anomangye M/A.
Suame Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Dr. John Osei Bobbie Boahen donated the items during a visit to the schools to observe the preparation of pupils and teachers towards the resumption of academic work following the reopening of schools by the government.
It was also to observe how schools in the municipality were observing the covid-19 safety protocols to prevent the spread of the virus in their schools.
Dr. Boahen said the gesture was to encourage pupils to work hard and become good leaders of the country.
He appealed to the teachers to work hard to ensure that every pupil, especially the little ones are adequately protected by following the laid down safety protocols to help curb the spread of covid 19.
The MCE also urged the pupils to strictly adhere to the safety protocols by cultivating the habit of wearing their nose masks and washing their hands all the time.
